This is the official web site for the National office. There is a lot of information on the National organization, its officers and nationwide chapter organization structure, the organization's goals and objectives, and much more.
American Heart Association: www.americanheart.org
The official Web site of the American Heart Association, information is available on heart and stroke, risk assessment, nutrition, research, publications, and family health.
National Coalition for Women with Heart Disease: www.womenheart.org
The Coalition is the only national organization founded by women with heart disease. The site contains good reference information and membership is free.
American College of Cardiology: www.acc.org
Membership is restricted to cardiologists but the Web site allows searches for clinical statements (new research) on all aspects of heart disease.
American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation: ww.aacvpr.org T
his Web site provides good sources of reference materials on cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation as well as links to most major organizations involved in cardiac and ulmonary disease.

The Institute is part of the National Institutes of Health, U.S. Government. The Web site is very comprehensive, covering such areas as heart information, scientific resources, studies, etc. It also provides links to numerous government departments, associations, and databases like MedlinePlus (www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus) where you can search for drug information, specific health topics, and current news on heart research developments.

The Association is a division of the American Heart Association. It specializes in the area of stroke, providing information on stroke assessment, management, research, etc.
USDA Food and Nutrition Information Center: www.nal.usda.gov/fnic
The Center is part of the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Agriculture Research Service. Founded in 1971, this site provides information on food and human nutrition including dietary guidelines and supplements and food composition. There is a specific section on heart health and sources for diet information

Operated by the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the site contains a health library, a special section on health topics organized by age, by race and ethnicity, for men, for women, etc., a section on information about doctors, hospitals, health insurance, prescriptions, Medicare and Medicaid, and a directory of healthfinder organizations including government agencies, clearinghouses, nonprofits and universities.
